All About Us:
MR. SCOTT MULCAHY-
Language Arts, Science, and Social
Studies Instructor
is about to begin his second year as a
member of our teaching team. Mr. Mulcahy will be teaching Language Arts
to his homeroom, and one block of Social Studies and one block of Science
to our 5th TEAMERS. Mr. Mulcahy holds a Bachelor's degree from Stonehill
College, and a Master's degree from the University of Hartford. He got
married this summer to his beautiful wife, Courtney, and they have settled
into their new home in Leicester, MA.

Mulcahy is very happy to be working with his friends and colleagues, Ms.
Joki, Mrs. O'Connell, Mrs. Varden, and Mrs. Williams.

ELIZABETH JOKI -
Science and Language Arts Instructor
has just finished her second
year in the Fifth TEAM as our Science instructor. Before Ms. Joki came
to Farley, she worked half of the previous school year as a teaching assistant
in Chelsea, MA, and as a one-on-one aide for a special needs student in
Concord, MA. Her student teaching experience included sixth and third
grades and a Montessori classroom. During these various experiences, Ms.
Joki has provided instruction for numerous English Language Learners.
Ms. Joki is very excited to be joining the Fifth TEAM for her third year.
Ms.
Joki graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a B.S.
in Geology and a minor in Education. Immediately following undergraduate
school, she continued at UMass entering graduate school in the Collaborative
Teacher Education Program, earning her Master's degree in Education. She
is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her love of science with
her students.
Ms.
Joki is the proud owner of a flame point Siamese cat named Gypsum. She
is very delighted to be team-teaching with her good friends and colleagues,
Mr. Mulcahy, Mrs. O'Connell, Mrs. Varden, and Mrs. Williams

MRS.
ROBIN O'CONNELL
-
Math Instructor
has been a teacher
in the Hudson School system for her entire teaching career. She has taught
sixth grade, she has taught seventh grade math, she was a Reading Recovery
teacher, and, for the past nine years, has been a fifth grade teacher.
Mrs. O'Connell is thrilled to be teaching her # 1 favorite subject: MATH!
Mrs. O'Connell holds
a Master's of Education, is a trained Mentor teacher, a trained Responsive
Classroom teacher, a classroom collaborator and administrator for "Critical
MASS" which is a grant program to improve the quality of math and
science classroom instruction, is an administrator for V.E.S.(an internet/intranet
educational technology program for teachers), and she is active on several
educational planning committees.
Mrs. O'Connell is
married, and she is the mother of two children. She is very excited about
team-teaching with her good friends and colleagues, Mr. Mulcahy, Ms. Joki,
Mrs. Varden, and Mrs. Williams.

MRS.
KARA VARDEN -
Language Arts and Flex Instructor
has just finished her fifth year
teaching in the Hudson School system, and she is thrilled to be returning
for her sixth year at Farley. Before coming to Hudson, Mrs. Varden worked
in her hometown of Bedford as a fifth grade teaching assistant. Mrs. Varden
will be teaching only Language Arts to her homeroom and Mrs. O'Connell's
homeroom. She will also be teaching Flex classes.
Mrs.
Varden has a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy. She also holds a
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Elementary Education. Her summers
are active since she is a camp counselor for a middle school "trip
get away" camp, in particular, on bike and canoe trips.
Mrs. Varden is a
trained Responsive Classroom teacher, and she loves to team-teach with
her good friends and colleagues, Mr. Mulcahy, Ms. Joki, Mrs. O'Connell,
and Mrs. Williams.

MRS.
LESLIE WILLIAMS -
Social Studies and Language Arts Instructor
has
been a teacher in the Hudson School system for 13 years. Before that,
she taught third, fourth, and fifth grade in Leominster, MA. She began
her career in Hudson at Forest Avenue School, and nine years ago she and
Mrs. O'Connell moved over to C.A. Farley School as fifth grade teachers.
Mrs. Williams holds
a Master's of Education , is a trained Mentor teacher, a trained Responsive
Classroom teacher, a Professional Development course instructor on using
technology in the classroom, and she is the Student Council advisor for
Farley. Mrs. Williams is VERY excited to be teaching Social Studies and
Language Arts (her two favorite subjects!!).
Mrs. Williams is
married, and she is the mother of two children, and the step-mother to
two children. She is thrilled to be team-teaching with her good friends
and colleagues, Mr. Mulcahy, Ms. Joki, Mrs. O'Connell, and Mrs. Varden.
